华人号:NIGERIA CHINA TIMES"Nihao China" Tourism Course 2024, a collaborative event organized by China Cultural Center (CCCNIG) in Nigeria and Tourism Volunteers Network, was held at CCCNIG in Abuja on 8th Aug 2024. The programme aimed to enhance cultural and tourism exchange between Nigeria and China, reflecting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
The event commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Li Xuda, who welcomed participants on behalf of the Chinese Embassy and CCCNIG. He emphasized the significance of cultural and tourism exchange in strengthening the relationship between China and Nigeria. Reflecting on the recent 27th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, Mr. Li highlighted the crucial role of the private sector and volunteers in realizing the full potential of tourism. He underscored the importance of people-to-people ties as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and expressed confidence that continued cooperation would lead to mutually beneficial outcomes in culture and tourism.
Following Mr. Li's remarks, Mrs. Ann Dogo, Director of Tourism for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), delivered a goodwill message. She expressed gratitude for the enduring relationship between Nigeria and China and highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and capacity building in the tourism sector.
Ambassador Phil Robert, Executive Director of Tourism Volunteers Network, was very happy with the fruitful cooperation between Tourism Volunteers Network and CCCNIG in his a goodwill message, further reinforcing the value of collaboration in the tourism sector.
The highlight of the event was a tourism course delivered by Mrs. Wang Yao, who provided an enlightening presentation on Chinese historical sites and UNESCO-listed tourist attractions. The course was followed by an interactive session where the audience had the opportunity to ask questions. Gifts were awarded to those who answered correctly, adding an element of engagement and excitement to the session.
Mr. Wang Xuefeng offered a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all participants and organizers for making the event a success. The programme concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Charity Akpamgbo, FCT Coordinator of Tourism Volunteers Network, and ended on a high note with refreshments for all attendees.
"Nihao China" programme not only showcased the rich cultural heritage of China, but also reinforced the commitment to strengthening the cultural and tourism ties between Nigeria and China, paving the way for future collaboration and mutual understanding.
