华人号:NIGERIA CHINA TIMESAn exhibition of Chinese artists' work, inspired by their recent trip to Africa, was unveiled at the China Cultural Center in Nigeria June 13, 2024. This initiative, organized by the Network of International Culturalink Entities under the "China-Africa Cultural Exchange Program" formulated by the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Johannesburg Action Plan (2016-2018), features 28 selected photographs that capture the essence of Africa.

The exhibition celebrates the beauty of the African continent, showcasing its breathtaking natural wonders, the industrious and kind-hearted people, and the unique cultural heritage. Each piece is a testament to the profound impact Africa has had on these Chinese artists, who have skillfully portrayed their love and respect for this magical land through their art.

The event commenced with an introductory speech by Mr. Wang, who highlighted the significance of the exhibition and the cultural exchange between China and Africa. This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Zakari, who discussed the activities of the China Cultural Center and shared insights into China's cultural and historical sites with the students and guests present.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of students from Nigerian-Ghana International School, who happened to be on an excursion and were privileged to join the program. These students enjoyed a unique and enriching experience, adding to the day's cultural exchange and learning opportunities.

Mr. Liu Zhangping, deputy director of China Cultural Center, present a mascot “Dragon” to the head of the school. In China, dragon is a symbol of strength and good luck.

Ms. Edi-ima then guided the audience, including the Nigerian Ghana International School students, through a captivating calligraphy display and a tour of the center's library, offering a glimpse into the rich literary traditions of China. The event also featured the screening of a documentary titled "Birds Eye of China," providing an aerial perspective of China's stunning landscapes and cultural landmarks.
This exhibition is more than an art display; it is a heartfelt expression of the deep connections and mutual admiration between China and Africa. Through the lens of these talented Chinese artists, visitors are invited to explore the enchanting landscapes and vibrant cultures of Africa, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of this diverse and beautiful continent.
