Fujian Province's Cultural and Tourism Industry Shines with Outstanding Results

During the 2025 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy, it was learned from the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism that the province's cultural and tourism economy delivered outstanding results in the first quarter of 2025. The province received a total of 153 million tourist visits, with total tourism revenue exceeding 209.095 billion yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 14.2% and 15.5%, respectively.

In the first quarter, Fujian Province organized a total of 2,960 cultural and tourism events and introduced 252 preferential measures to boost consumption in the cultural and tourism sector. The province has expanded high-quality cultural offerings, including over 160 public welfare performances under the "Weekend Opera Encounter" initiative, more than 1,000 public-benefit performances such as "Village Songs," "Village Gala Night," music performances, and street shows. The nighttime economy emerged as a new growth pole. In the first quarter, 15 national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters across the province welcomed a total of 49.097 million visitors, generating 3.833 billion yuan in revenue.

In terms of expanding the inbound tourism market, Fujian Province has introduced 12 measures to promote the high-quality development of inbound tourism and released 10 classic inbound tourism routes. In the first quarter of this year, inbound tourism orders in the province increased by 40%, with Xiamen and Fuzhou experiencing surges of 56% and 99%, respectively. The search volume for the "World Heritage Chinese New Year" by foreign visitors increased by 3.5 times.
