At 8 AM on April 20,

the first Wuyuan Bay Fun Run kicked off

energetically at the Xiamen Fliport C&E Center,

drawing 3,000 runners from 11 countries and regions

for a scenic coastal journey together.

Under the guidance of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Sports, the 2025 Wuyuan Bay Fun Run, themed "Joyfully roam Huli's way, Joyfully run Wuyuan Bay!" was hosted by the Huli District People's Government with support from the Huli District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Heshan Subdistrict Office, and Jinshan Subdistrict Office, attracting 3,000 runners from 11 countries and regions.

 Running on the Blue Ribbon Trail, Feel the Charm of Wuyuan Bay.

The event featured two categories: "Individual Group (5 kilometers)"

and "Family Group (3 kilometers)".

The "Blue Ribbon" race route, 

winds past the key landmarks including Wutong Lighthouse Park, Fliport Wutong Hotel,

Sasseur (Xiamen) Outlets, Wuyuan Bay Bridge Pier Sports Park,

Wuyuan Bay International Yacht Club and other attractions, commercial areas, and hotels,

painting a picturesque corner of Wuyuan Bay tourist resort.

The coastal scenery, ecological wetlands, and traditional Minnan culture,

--- all fused with modern urban flair --- greeted runners along the way.

Meanwhile,

the "Tide-Watching Sailing Chase Race"

 unfolded on the waters of Wuyuan Bay,

with sailboats catching the wind and racing ahead.

 

While they were running, 

the participants got a good workout, made new friends, 

enjoyed the stunning views around them,

and soaked in Huli's one-of-a-kind culture.

Awards were presented on-site to the family group,

women's individual group, and men's individual group.

In the end, Yan Songbin secured first place in the men's individual category with a time of 15:13, followed by Wu Huanyan (15:19) and Zhu Bin (15:41) in second and third place. In the equally intense competition of the women's individual group, Xie Lishi crossed the finish line first at 18:55, followed by Yu Hui (19:00) and Wang Yajin (20:00). In the family category, the team of Zhuang Wei and Zhuang Guocai (Race No. B262) took first place, followed by Lin Zhihao and Lin Yaojia (Race No. B131) in second, and Huang Yanhan, Huang Longyao and Zheng Yuting (Race No. B032) in third.

 Running Connects Heart to Heart, Building Bridges from the Start

At the base of Wutong Lighthouse, buffeted by sea winds,

runners gathered just over 600 meters away from Wutong Ferry Terminal, 

Chinese mainland's largest passenger terminal for cross-strait travel to Taiwan. 

A simple ferry ticket bearing the word “Nostalgia” carries deep emotions between the two sides of the Strait.

The Xiamen-Kinmen ferry route sees a constant flow of travelers

and handles over 90% of

 Fujian's "Mini Three Links" traffic.

On April 19th, one day before the Fun Run, two Kinmen teams with 27 runners quickly cleared customs at Wutong Ferry Terminal, collected their materials via the dedicated Kinmen athlete channel, and proceeded directly to the "Blue Ribbon Trail" race venue. "The Xiamen-Kinmen Common Living Circle is very convenient," said Taiwanese participant Mr. He, a first-timer. "From walking initially to the 5km run this year, the track mirrors cross-strait integration: Run more and more, hearts closer than before."

The event has provided a brand-new platform for Xiamen-Kinmen exchanges. "We will continue to establish a three-tiered exchange system between Huli and Kinmen's sports communities through a series of fun runs, training competitions, featuring 'annual events + quarterly activities + daily exchanges,' helping to highlight Huli's cultural, sports, and tourism integration with Taiwan while strengthening cross-strait exchanges," said an official from the Huli District Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

All along, Huli District capitalizes on its unique position vis-à-vis Taiwan, expediting its development as the premier destination for Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises. By promoting "Kinmen to see, Huli to stay" tourism and relying on the convenience and cost-effectiveness of the Xiamen-Kinmen "Mini Three Links" ferry route, Huli District expands cross-strait tourism and distinguishes itself as a key entry point among major cities and districts serving inbound travelers. 

As part of the Wuyuan Bay Fun Run event, Huli District also offered exclusive subsidies for Xiamen-Kinmen travel packages, effectively boosting the tourism market during the May Day holiday. Adding to this, Xiamen Bank's new "Xiamen-Kinmen Common Living Card" simplifies visits for Kinmen residents visiting Xiamen by integrating mobile payment, public transportation, and cultural tourism features, offering eight key benefits covering clothing, food, housing, and transportation.

Where sport meets fun by the bay, Wuyuan Bay lights up the day!

After the Fun Run ended, 

the finish line at Xiamen International Yacht Club

transformed into a vibrant sports and tourism carnival.

A lively sports party brought people of all ages together,

with parents and children teaming up to play "Human Monopoly."

Using dice to unlock landmark missions around Wuyuan Bay,

the little ones tackled the "Steady Steps" challenge on balance beams.

Meanwhile, parents acted like "human guardrails,"

guiding their kids, ensuring their safety, and capturing all the happy moments.

The event welcomed participants aged 4 to 69,

spanning three generations of many families to join in the festive carnival 

where a warm and lively atmosphere was fostered

through creative activities that mixed competition with fun.

At the 2025 "Joyfully roam Huli's way, Joyfully run Wuyuan Bay!" sports-tourism market,

over 20 renowned Xiamen sports and tourism brands

 

presented a dazzling display of hotel stays, local cuisine, cultural experiences,

and professional sports gear as part of their diverse "sports+" offerings.

This sports-tourism carnival centered on joy, combined with the release of exclusive cultural and tourism vouchers in Huli District, brings a unique vitality of "traveling with events" to the Wuyuan Bay Tourism Resort Area through an innovative "event+tourism" model, warming up Huli District's May Day holiday tourism market in advance.

Behind every spectacular event is the active support of social forces. In recent years, a number of well-known sports brands have rapidly developed in Huli District, with the District's sports industry showing promising development trends. While receiving support from sports lottery public welfare funds, this event was also jointly supported by multiple organizations including Qiaodan Sports, Xiamen Bank, Xiamen Road & Bridge Urban Service and Development, and Panport Properties.
