Xiamen joins pilot program for service sector expansion

The State Council recently issued plans to accelerate its comprehensive pilot program for the expansion and opening-up of the service sector. Nine cities including Xiamen have been added to the pilot program.

Officials noted that the service sector is deemed an important indicator in measuring the competitiveness of a city. The service sector accounts for more than 60 percent of Xiamen's GDP.
