南卡博览会开幕在即 《南卡日报》受邀参与报道 South Carolina State Fair Set to Open, The SC Daily Invited for Coverage

《南卡日报》消息 10月9日中午12：00，一年一度的南卡罗莱纳州博览会将在首府哥伦比亚的1200 Rosewood Drive开幕，展会为期12天。10月8日，也就是展会开幕的前一天，本报记者走访了博览会的举办地。

COLUMBIA, S.C. (SC Daily) On October 9th at 12:00 pm, the annual South Carolina State Fair will kick off at 1200 Rosewood Drive in Columbia, lasting for 12 days. On October 8th, the day before the opening, our reporters visited the fairgrounds.

在展会正门，记者看到展会的标志性设施——巨型火箭，已装饰一新，BE WELL的大字格外醒目。这既是赞助机构的广告语，也表达了人们对南卡未来的美好祝愿。

At the main entrance, the fair's iconic feature—a giant rocket—was freshly adorned, with the words "BE WELL" prominently displayed. This phrase serves not only as the sponsor's slogan but also expresses good wishes for South Carolina’s future.

南卡博览会起源于州农业机械学会每年举办的州博览会，其历史可以追溯到19世纪中叶。农产品展览一直是这里的重要内容。在占地面积最大的农业展厅，南卡州各地的特色水果蔬菜粮食作物一应俱全。这里货品不仅展出，还将成为网络销售的样品。展厅总监库恩女士格外忙碌。她带领7位评判员正在正厅对展品等级进行最后的审核，以便确定网上的销售价格。

The South Carolina State Fair originated from the state’s Agricultural and Mechanical Society's annual events, with a history dating back to the mid-19th century. Agricultural exhibits have always been a key highlight. In the largest exhibit hall, the Agriculture pavilion, an impressive variety of fruits, vegetables, and crops from across South Carolina are showcased. These products are not only on display but will also serve as samples for online sales. Ms. Koon, the exhibit hall director, was especially busy, leading a team of seven judges as they made final assessments of the items to determine their online prices.

今年南卡州博览会的主题是：赞颂该州的46个县。在巨型火箭旁的RUFF展厅内，各县的展位按字母顺序排列。每个州都带来了本地的特色展品，这里可以让前来游玩的人们，了解南卡州的丰饶特产和历史文化。展厅一角设立了卡拉OK舞台，届时各县的孩子组成的合唱团，将在此表演本县的歌曲。

This year’s theme is "Celebrating South Carolina’s 46 Counties." Inside the RUFF pavilion near the giant rocket, the counties’ booths are arranged in alphabetical order, each featuring local specialties. Visitors can explore the rich agricultural offerings and cultural history of South Carolina here. One corner of the hall hosts a karaoke stage where children's choirs from different counties will perform their local songs.

在马戏场，场地的布置一新，四周的座椅已经摆好。博览会期间，这里每天要进行3场表演。在这里我们会与多次莅临此地表演的资深马戏艺人伊恩·加登，小丑夫妻雷纳尔多和小卢再次见面。《美国达人秀》全明星赛第一名，来自弗吉尼亚的空中飞人艾丹·布莱恩特，也会献上精彩表演。

At the circus grounds, the venue has been freshly prepared, with seats set up around the stage. Three performances will take place daily during the fair. Attendees will once again be entertained by veteran performers like Ian Garden, the clown duo Reynardo and Little Lou, and aerialist Aidan Bryant, the Virginia native and winner of America's Got Talent: All Stars.

在百事广场舞台，工作人员正在安装调试音响设备。这里每晚的音乐表演全部免费入场。两场分别向摇滚偶像披头士和猫王普莱斯利致敬的音乐会，特别值得引人关注。

At the Pepsi Stage, staff were busy installing and fine-tuning sound equipment. All evening music performances here will be free to attend, with particular highlights being tribute concerts to rock icons The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

遍布各个展区的美食摊点，是每年展会游客的最爱。在一处装饰艳丽的烧烤店，女老板詹妮弗和她的6人团队正在准备物料，擦拭器皿。他们的菜单上有法国薯条，嫩鸡配薯条篮，螺旋土豆，附有奶酪，培根，酸奶，泡菜等多种配料。面对记者的采访，詹妮弗信心十足，她说：“明天展会一开始，我们摊位前顾客就会排起长队。”

Food stands scattered throughout the fairgrounds are always a crowd favorite. At one brightly decorated BBQ stand, owner Jennifer and her six-person team were preparing ingredients and polishing their equipment. Their menu includes French fries, chicken baskets, spiral potatoes with various toppings like cheese, bacon, yogurt, and pickles. Confidently, Jennifer told the reporter, "Once the fair starts tomorrow, there will be long lines in front of our booth."
