作为资深记者，我曾经参观过无数博览会。而昨日受邀采访一年一度的南卡罗莱纳博览会，却让笔者看到了别样的风情，特色的展示。

As a seasoned journalist, I have visited countless fairs over the years. However, when I was invited to cover the annual South Carolina State Fair yesterday, I was struck by its unique charm and distinctive exhibits.

这个博览会历史悠久，最初的创办者，是南卡州农业机械协会，最初的目的是推广南卡州的农业。所以这个博览会的大部分内容，都与农业相关。

The South Carolina State Fair has a long history. It was originally founded by the South Carolina Agricultural and Mechanical Society, with the primary goal of promoting agriculture in the state. As such, a large portion of the fair focuses on agriculture.

博览会不仅展示南卡丰富的农业资源，还再现了现代与传统农业技术的结合。在参观期间，人们可以感受到了南卡农民对土地的热爱，以及他们通过劳动获得的成就感。

The fair not only showcases the state's rich agricultural resources but also demonstrates the blending of modern and traditional farming techniques. Visitors can feel the deep love that South Carolina farmers have for their land, as well as the sense of accomplishment they gain through hard work.

在博览会的农产品展示区，各种本地蔬菜和水果整齐地排列在展台上，像南瓜、甜薯、玉米和西瓜等大型作物，吸引了许多游客驻足观赏。展览不仅突出了这些农作物的体积和色彩，还展示了南卡得天独厚的气候和土壤条件如何成就了这些丰收。每一个农产品背后都有着辛勤耕耘的故事，让我深感南卡农业的丰富与多样。

In the agricultural section, various local fruits and vegetables are neatly displayed on the stands. Large crops like pumpkins, sweet potatoes, corn, and watermelons attract numerous onlookers. The exhibition not only highlights the size and vibrant colors of these crops but also shows how South Carolina's favorable climate and fertile soil contribute to bountiful harvests. Behind every piece of produce is a story of hard work and dedication, giving me a deeper appreciation for the richness and diversity of South Carolina’s agriculture.

除了农产品，牲畜比赛是博览会的另一个亮点。从牛、羊到鸡和兔子，这些经过精心照料的动物展示了南卡畜牧业的蓬勃发展。无论是猪、牛、山羊还是鸡，每只动物都被打理得一尘不染。在比赛场地上，观众不仅可以看到这些动物的风采，还可以了解各类牲畜的饲养方法与标准。这种展示让我进一步体会到，农业不仅仅是关于种植，它还包括动物的养育。尤其是在观看牧羊犬比赛时，我感受到了人与动物之间的合作与默契，也是现代农业中不可或缺的一部分。

Livestock competitions are another major highlight of the fair. From cattle and sheep to chickens and rabbits, these well-cared-for animals demonstrate the thriving livestock industry in the state. Whether it’s pigs, cows, goats, or chickens, every animal is groomed to perfection. Visitors can not only admire the beauty of these animals but also learn about their breeding, care, and the standards of livestock management. This exhibition helped me realize that agriculture goes beyond planting crops; it includes the care and raising of animals. The sheepdog trials, in particular, showed me the cooperation and harmony between humans and animals—an essential part of modern farming.

此外，博览会的手工艺展示区通过农具的制作与使用，展现农业背后的手工技艺。在传统村，我有幸见到了当地的手工艺人如何使用传统方法制作农具。这种工艺已经传承了几代人，体现出农业与工匠精神的完美结合。农具的制作不仅表现其实用性，也承载了历史与文化。

In addition, the handicraft section at the fair showcased the craftsmanship behind agricultural tools. At Traditional Village, I had the opportunity to watch local artisans demonstrate traditional methods of crafting farm tools, a skill passed down through generations. The process reflects the perfect marriage between agriculture and the spirit of craftsmanship. These tools not only serve practical purposes but also carry historical and cultural significance.

今年博览会还特别强调了从农场到餐桌的转换理念。从农场到餐桌展馆中，当地厨师用南卡本地农场的食材现场烹饪，体现本地农业在经济和健康方面的双重价值，凸显了一个更加可持续的食品系统的重要性。

This year’s fair also placed a strong emphasis on the concept of farm-to-table. At the Farm-to-Table Pavilion, local chefs prepared meals using ingredients sourced directly from South Carolina farms. These demonstrations illustrated the dual value of supporting local agriculture for both economic and health benefits, while also promoting a more sustainable food system.

虽然农业展览是博览会的核心，但整体氛围却充满了活力和欢笑。家长带着孩子享受游乐场设施，四处充满了孩子们的笑声和游戏的声音。空气中弥漫着各种美食的香气——从炸甜饼到热狗，再到烤肉，每个角落都散发着诱人的味道。

While agriculture remains the core of the fair, the overall atmosphere is lively and filled with joy. Parents and children enjoy the rides at the amusement park, and the fairgrounds echo with the sound of children's laughter and the excitement of carnival games. The air is rich with the mouth-watering scents of food—fried dough, hot dogs, and BBQ fill every corner with irresistible aromas.

博览会不仅是一个娱乐的场所，也是一个全面了解南卡州的机会。通过这些农业展示，南卡罗莱纳州博览会成功地将农业的各个层面呈现给了公众。从农产品到牲畜，再到手工艺，每一个展台都在诉说着南卡农民的智慧与汗水。这让我更加深刻地意识到，农业不仅仅是生产食物，它还代表了一种与自然和谐共生的生活方式。

The fair is not just a place for entertainment; it is an opportunity to learn about the diverse facets of South Carolina. Through these agricultural exhibitions, the South Carolina State Fair successfully showcases the many aspects of farming to the public. From produce to livestock, to the craftsmanship of handmade tools, each display tells a story of the intelligence and hard work of South Carolina's farmers. It deepened my understanding that agriculture is not only about producing food—it represents a lifestyle of living in harmony with nature.
