Cultures, Foods, and Play!

Last Saturday (June 22) I volunteered to perform at Worldshine and this Saturday (June 29) I volunteered to help out with the Asian BBQ Festival, different people came to eat our culture's food, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Thai. These festivals often feature live music, cultural performances, and activities for all ages. They provide a fantastic opportunity to experience the rich and diverse flavors of Asian cuisine in a festive and communal setting. It smelledlike the kitchen exploded with greatness.

We CYOC hosted the Kids Area of the Asian BBQ, there's tickets, a bouncy house, ring toss, bowling, etc. I woke up at 7:00 a.m just to get there. We had to meet there at 9:30 a.m. I was a mess, my mood was low, the thing I wanted the most at that time was to have a bed right infront of me. As we got set up, I saw different stands setting up too. Boba, skewers, etc. I didn't get to see all of them because I was helpingout everywhere, from the basketball arcademachine, to setting up the table sheets. As we got set up I could visualize people and kids coming in and having plenty of fun.Different volunteers were in charge of different games, Iwas in chargeof the prizes, from lollipops and chips to LED lights and stuffed animals.

We didn't start off with a good number of people, but as the day went by more and more visitors came with their children to have fun and win some prizes. I got shifted from in charge of the prizes to in charge of money because I was very concentrated on my job (according to adults there). I was shocked and happy when I got shifted. I was taught how to record down the money we receiveand give out tickets. The sun shined right next to me, it was so hot there I felt like passing out. I worked until like 4:00 p.m. and got some boba for my sister and I. I kept giving out tickets, walking back and forth, and receivingmoney. At the end of the day we earned more than $500. That's a lot.I got lamb and chicken skewers at the end of the day to thank thevolunteers. Ienjoyed volunteeringexpected for the fact that it was hot enough to burn me to death.
