Conference unlocks Fujian's cultural and tourism potential

The 2025 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy commenced with a grand opening ceremony in Nanping, Fujian province, on April 17. The ceremony featured a captivating cultural and tourism performance titled "The Moon Reflecting Mt. Wuyi".

This show, comprising seven programs, showcased innovative technology including a 270° panoramic intelligent water stage system, digital-controlled water screens, and naked-eye 3D technology. These elements were combined to transform the landscape of "UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage" into a dynamic living art display, blending Zhu Xi's Philosophy & Cultural Legacy, Fujian culture, and tea culture.

Subsequently, the 2025 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy was convened on April 18, where 16 major projects were signed, with investments exceeding 30 billion yuan ($4.12 billion).

These signed projects encompassed four agreements on strategic cooperation, fund cooperation, and industrial cooperation, including strategic partnerships between the Fujian Provincial People's Government and Ctrip Group. Additionally, there were 11 investment cooperation projects totaling 29.1 billion yuan, along with a banking-enterprise cooperation project securing 2 billion yuan in financing. These projects spanned various innovative formats such as cultural-commercial-tourism complexes, marine tourism, ecological tourism, urban renewal, low-altitude tourism, and agricultural-cultural tourism.

Throughout the conference, a total of 133 key cultural and tourism investment projects and 11 banking-enterprise cooperation projects were agreed upon and signed, amounting to a total investment scale of 103.83 billion yuan and financing of 5.08 billion yuan.

It was revealed at the conference that the 2026 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy would be hosted in Zhangzhou.
