Museums are not only records of a city's history but also an important force in driving urban development. Zhengzhou is now accelerating its construction into a "city of museums." As 2024 begins, the latest data shows that Zhengzhou is home to a total of 112 museums, including 54 registered museums and 58 quasi-museums. It has also established 54 parks themed on heritage and culture to comprehensively display Chinese civilization, making historical and cultural resources more widely-known to people.

博物馆，不仅是城市记忆的记录者，也是推动城市发展的重要力量，如今的郑州正加速成为一座“博物馆之城”。2024新年伊始，一组新数据传来，郑州市博物馆总数达112家，其中备案博物馆54家、类博物馆58家；建成开放的遗址生态文化公园54处，着力构建“博物馆群+大遗址公园”全景式中华文明集中展示体系，让历史文化资源真正活起来。

The major birthplace of Chinese civilization, Zhengzhou is one of the eight ancient capitals and also one of the nine national central cities of China. In recent years, to popularize the cultural relics in museums, the heritage sites, and the ancient literature, Zhengzhou has adopted a series of pragmatic measures to promote museum construction, making Zhengzhou the "City of A Hundred Museums".

The museum fever lasted throughout 2023. On New Year's Day 2024, numerous tourists poured into the Henan Museum, Zhengzhou Museum, and Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Capital Site Museum, making them the top popular tourist attractions. In addition to these state-owned museums that showcase the history of Chinese civilization, many non-state museums are rising in Zhengzhou, such as the Zhengzhou Daxiang Ceramics Museum, the Zhengzhou Shanhai Tridacna Museum, the Zhengzhou Chengwaicheng Ceramic Art Museum, the Renqing Rubbing Art Museum, and the Deashin Kitchen Museum. They display personal collections to share cultural resources and Zhengzhou's cultural charm with the public.

博物馆热从2023年初“卷”到年末。2024年元旦假期，河南博物院、郑州博物馆、郑州商都遗址博物院等场馆人流如织，成为热门打卡地。除承载中华文明熠熠辉煌的国有博物馆外，还有一个迅速崛起的博物馆军团——非国有博物馆。郑州大象陶瓷博物馆、山海砗磲博物馆、城外城博物馆、仁清金石传拓艺术博物馆、大信厨房博物馆等多家非国有博物馆，矗立在郑州街角，令人眼花缭乱的民间收藏从“私家珍藏”到“社会共享”，成为古都一道亮丽风景。

Recently, the General Office of the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government issued theImplementation Plan for Promoting the Construction of Hundreds of Museums in Zhengzhou, which requires implementing original work exhibitions and digital applications and making every effort to spread museum culture. The Implementation Plan makes clear that each county (city) shall build 1 comprehensive museum, 2 thematic (special) museums, and some non-state museums, with the number of third-level national museums or above to increase by 50%, toaccelerate the construction of museums in Zhengzhou.

打造原创展览，推进数字化应用，做好博物馆活化利用；各县（市）要建设1家综合性博物馆，2家专题（特色）博物馆，N家非国有博物馆；国家三级以上博物馆数量在原有基础上增加50％……近日，郑州市政府办公厅印发《郑州市推进百家博物馆建设实施方案》，郑州博物馆建设按下了“加速键”。

At present, Zhengzhou is advancing the construction of core state-owned museums, such as the Yellow River National Museum, the Yangshao Culture Museum, the Zhengzhou Textile Industry Heritage Museum, the Traditional Iron Smelting Museum, and the Henan South-to-North Water Diversion Museum. At the same time, it plans to establish the Peiligang Culture Museum and the Chinese Astronomy Museum. It is actively creating immersive experience programs using digital theaters, dramas and performances, and Live-Action Roleplay activities, integrating culture into people's daily life.

目前，蓬勃发展的郑州正加快推进黄河博览馆、仰韶文化博物馆、郑州纺织工业遗址博物馆、中国古代冶铁博物馆、河南南水北调博物馆等国有骨干博物馆建设；谋划推进裴李岗文化博物馆、中国天文博物馆建设等。同时，积极探索利用公共空间开展数字剧场、演绎剧场、“剧本杀”等沉浸式体验项目，让文物“活起来”融入百姓生活中。
