While Ginebra fans anticipate a 2-0 lead in the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals for their favorite team, coach Tim Cone is bracing for a strong San Miguel fightback when the teams clash in Game 2 on Sunday.

With a jam-packed crowd expected at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the Kings will try to ride the momentum of their 127-99 win in Game 1 when they tangle with the defending champions Beermen at 6:30 pm

"They're a veteran team. They've been to these wars so many times," Cone said of the Beermen. "And the most [important thing] about the finals is resilience, how you come back, and we know the resilience Of this team."

The Kings shot 61 percent from the floor in the series opener, and that was was due to their excellent ball movement that produced 37 assists.

Justin Brownlee stood at the forefront of Ginebra's demolition of San Miguel, scoring 42 points on a near flawless 17-of-19 shooting from the field. Joe Devance also came up big with 20 points, while slot man Greg Slaughter added 11 and seven boards Along with a solid defensive job against four-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo, who was limited to 13 points and 12 rebounds.

But Cone has been in the league long enough to know that SMB, the reigning Commissioner's Cup champions, won't yield the title that easy

"It's about mindset. We know they will make adjustments. We should not panic. We have to stay calm as we go along," Cone said. "But we're not coming out doing the same thing either. We'll try to Continue keeping them off balance."

San Miguel coach Leo Austria took note of the discipline Ginebra showed in Game 1, which led to the one-sided affair.

"They were able to follow their game plan to the letter. They came out really prepared," Austria said.

But Austria isn't in panic mode at all.

"Good thing is, this is a best-of-seven series, so even if we lose by 40 or 50 points, that's just one game. We just have to move forward and make the adjustment in the next game," he said.

While Fajardo will try to rediscover his inside game against Ginebra, the Beermen also need to get their outside shooting to get going after they made just 7-of-29 3-pointers in Game 1. The trio of Marcio Lassiter, Alex Cabagnot and Chris Ross were a combined for 3-of-16 from long range.
