【华人头条南北卡罗莱纳讯】据媒体近日报道，北卡一所有着157年历史的非裔美国人大学已开始拖欠工资（Saint Augustine's University professors cancel classes due to school's payroll problems），这一消息在华人社区引起关注。

This news has caused a stir in the Chinese community. 

位于北卡罗莱纳州罗利市的圣奥古斯丁大学（Saint Augustine’s University）也是北卡社区的一部分，大约有135名来自韦克县公立学校的高中生提前修读 SAU 的课程。 圣奥大学（SAU） 正陷入严重的财务困境与危机之中。

Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, is also part of the North Carolina community, with approximately 135 high school students from Wake County Public Schools taking SAU courses in advance. Saint-August University (SAU) is in serious financial trouble and crisis.

美中经文协会（CAECA）消息当天就迅速向华人社会呼吁，并立即行动！

On the same day as the news came out, CAECA quickly appealed to the Chinese community and took action immediately!

之前的报道中CAECA 创会主席卫高荣先生介绍，在该大学任教的王月老师向他发出求助信息。王月老师的信息中说：“今早教师会上，很多老师谈到家庭的困难…，作为中文老师，我亲眼看到SAU遭受的苦难，急需要社会各界支持。恳求CAECA能尽快为社区、老师们提供一些帮助！” 

In previous reports, Mr. John Wei, the founding chairman of CAECA, said that Prof. Lena Wang-Anthony, who teaches at the university, sent him a message for help. Teacher Wang Yue's message said: "At the teachers' meeting this morning, many teachers talked about the difficulties of their families. As a Chinese teacher, I have seen with my own eyes the suffering that SAU has suffered and urgently needs support from all walks of life. I implore CAECA to provide support to the community and the community as soon as possible. Teachers provide some help!”

据悉称该校从上星期五就发不岀工资了，并询问CAECA能否给予老师们一些帮助？比如向老师们提供食品，或者Gasoline gift card？因为教师们不仅面临家庭生活的困难，连多余的钱加油去学校上课的钱也很缺乏。 

It is reported that the school has been unable to pay wages since last Friday, and asked CAECA if it can provide some help to the teachers. Like providing food to teachers, or Gasoline gift cards? Because teachers not only face difficulties in family life, they also lack extra money to pay for gas and go to school.

得知此消息，卫高荣先生即刻亲自去商场购买了35张面额为20美元的礼品卡，另外取了2400美元现金，共计3100美元。

After learning the news, Mr. John Wei immediately went to the mall in person and purchased 35 gift cards with a face value of US$20, and withdrew another US$2,400 in cash, totaling US$3,100.

美中经文董事长牛志文，创会董事长卫高荣，董事Lisa Huang，任平，赵明等一行8人在次日早驱车来到Saint Augustine's University大学校园，与校方领导会晤，并全数做了捐赠。

A group of 8 people including Niu Zhiwen, Chairman of CAECA, John Wei, Founding Chairman, Lisa Huang, Directors, Ren Ping and Zhao Ming drove to the Saint Augustine's University campus early the next morning to meet with the school leaders and all Donations were made.

参加会晤的校方领导有圣奥副校长Dr. Janelle Jennings-Alexander, Interim Provost & Vice President；财务长Dr. Lynda Batiste, CFO 和国际项目主任等。

School leaders who attended the meeting included Vice President Dr. Janelle Jennings-Alexander, Interim Provost & Vice President; Chief Financial Officer Dr. Lynda Batiste, CFO and Director of International Projects, etc.

美中经文董事长牛志文先生代表协会说：“我非常知道你们经历了困苦， 所以我们向你们赠送一些礼品卡和一些现金，我们正在努力在你们和协会之间建立联系，这样我们就可以在你们有任何困难的任何时候参与其中，成为你们大学大家庭的一部分，希望我们定期沟通，希望你们能度过难关！”

Mr. Niu Zhiwen, chairman of US-China Scriptures, said on behalf of the association: "I know very well that you have gone through hardships, so we are sending you some gift cards and some cash, and we are trying to establish a connection between you and the association so that we can Get involved anytime you have any difficulties, be a part of your university family, and hopefully we’ll be in regular communication so you can get through it!”

圣奥副校长Dr. Janelle Jennings-Alexande代表校方对美中经文在学校困境时的慷慨帮助表示深深的感谢！

On behalf of the school, Dr. Janelle Jennings-Alexande, Vice President of Saint Olympus, expressed her deep gratitude to US-China Scripture for its generous help during the school’s difficult times!

王月老师表示校长已亲自向教职员工发了这笔捐赠。卫高荣先生也呼吁CAECA成员以及热心人士伸出援手，以解燃眉之急。捐款将由CAECA转达，专款专用。 

Prof. Lena Wang-Anthony said that the principal had personally distributed the donation to the faculty and staff. Mr. John Wei also called on CAECA members and enthusiasts to lend a helping hand to meet urgent needs. Donations will be conveyed by CAECA and earmarked for the purpose.
