With various attractions including famous historical cultural relics and natural scenic spots, Nan’an is an ideal tourist resort.

Jiuri Mountain

Located in the western Fengzhou Town of the Nan’an City, Jiuri Mountain is 16 km distance to the downtown city. As a famous historical site that witnessed oversea transportation in Chinese history, it was listed as one of the key sites to be protected under the national level. The height of the mountain is about 100 m which are made by different layers of mountain bodies where there are rocks and cliffs with green trees growing. In front of the mountain, the Jinjiang River is meandering through, made up a picturesque scenery. Those beautiful landscapes and cultural relics in the Jiuri Mountain made it one of the most famous sightseeing zones in Nan’an.

Anping Stone Bridge

Anping Stone Bridge, also called “Wuli Bridge (2.5-kilometer bridge)”, is the longest historical stone bridge that still exist in China. It was built in 1138 and took 14 years to finish the construction. As the longest girder stone bridge and the longest existing cross-sea stone bridge in China, it was listed in the first batch of key historical sites to be protected in the national level that launched in 1961. In December 2016, Fujian province formally approved the Anping Bridge in Quanzhou as a national 4A level tourist attraction, which is the second in Jinjiang City and the first in Nan’an City to be approved so.

Ancient House of Cai Family

The ancient house of Cai family is located in Zhangli Village, Guanqiao Town, Nan’an City. 16 of the buildings have remained fairly intact and it was listed in the fifth list of key historical sites to be protected in national level. Ancient buildings extend out of one’s sight, which makes one excited. The ridges of the roofs are all curved, beams and pillars are engraved or painted, and the blocks in the front walls are embossed with beautiful pictures. On the window frames, there are emboss paintings of flowers and birds, which give the windows three-dimensional beauties that are cleverly gorgeous. On doors and walls of big halls, there are paintings or different types of calligraphy works hanging, each contribute to the charm of the house in their special way. Many famous paintings and calligraphy works were reserved in this house. Wood carving, clay sculpture, brick carving and stone carving, beautiful and exquisite, were done by various skills.

Fengchao Grand Canyon

Fengchao Mountain is located in the southwest of Dongtian Town Nan’an city which is 1095 m above sea level. It is praised: “mountains are as beautiful as these Zhangjiajie and waters are as charming as these in Jiuzhaigo.” (Zhangjiajie and Jiuzhaigo are two famous tourist attractions in China). For outdoor sports enthusiasts, it is the “most beautiful canyon in south Fujian Province”. Looking down from the high mountain, the trees make many green waves that has the special aroma of forest under the warm sunshine. The way up to the mountain is full of peaks and rocks with special and sharp shapes, and the waterfalls add more charm to the landscape.

Fengshan Temple

Fengshan Temple, which was used to be called Guoshan Temple, General Temple or Weizhen Temple, is located in the northwest foot of Fengshan Mountain in the Shishan Town Nan’an City. Built in the period between 936 and 947, it was called Fengshan temple because the shape of the mountain it named after looks like a phenix (“Feng” means phenix). It is a famous ancient temple among southern Fujian area with a long history and an ancestral temple for Guangze Honored King in Fujian, Taiwan, and other places around the world.

Herb World Resort 

Herb World Resort, located in the Tianzhu Mountain scenic zone in Penghua Town Nan’an City, is 1033.5 m above the sea level. It is the first healthy recreation resort that themed with herbs. Many different types of herbs are planted there including lavender, basil, mint and cherry blossom. There is natural forest that extends miles and miles, lavender field covers all over the mountain and beautiful cherry blossoms that look like the color of fire. These exotic flowers and plants from different places of the world are eye-catching and the southern European style village castles and windmill fairy tale world are places for the whole family to spend a good time together.

Xuefeng Temple

Xuefeng Temple is one of the four most famous ancient temples in southern Quanzhou City. It was built in Tang dynasty (618-907) which is more than 1000 years ago. It used to be the site for Fujian Buddhist Association and the Fujian Buddhist College. Around the temple, there are beautiful peaks and valleys on which green trees grow. The most well-known places are “four scenic spots” and “eight interests”. There are over 20 scenic sites in the tourism area such as Baima Tomb, Wanfu Hall, Depositary of Buddhist Texts, Five Monks Worshiping the Buddha, Tiger-growl Rock, Taixu Cave, Nine-cave Mountain, and so on. The landscapes are so beautiful, resources are so abundant and the ecological environment is pretty good there.

Lingying Temple

Lingying Temple is located in the astonishing and majestic Daimao Mountain in Hongmei Town in Nan’an City. It is also a thousand-year temple that built in late Tang Dynasty (923-936). As the only national 3A level tourist resort and provincial level forest park, it reserves many different religious and cultural relics. What’s more, the essence of nature – a thousand-year-old Keteleeria grows in this temple. This national class I protected tree is now round four meters with a height of forty-five meters.

Memorial Museum for Zheng Chenggong

With a total building area of 3000 m², the Memorial Museum for Zheng Chenggong is a center for displaying the life of the hero Zheng Chenggong. He was talented with civil and military skills when he was a young man. His heroic deed of fighting against the Qing government made his fame and later he recaptured Taiwan. His whole life was dramatic and respectable. The Museum was built in 1962 on the base of the hero’s family temple in his hometown, the Aofeng Mountain in Shijing Town in Nan’an City. In October 1st 1983, it was moved to the present site.

Guanshan Village

Guanshan Village, with a total land area of 4.2 km², is located in the southeast of Meishan Township, which is about 20 km to the downtown Nan’an City. The mountain area is 5000 mu (one mu is 666.67 m²) and the cultivated area is 840 mu. The total population is 1962, distributed in 8 natural villages. As a typical small village in the mountains, it reserved its historical culture and natural beauties. A painter once went to Guanshan Village for live-painting and said: “The beauty of Guanshan Village lies in its tranquility and changes. By changes, I mean you can see a different picture with every step you move and every scene can be painted because they are all picturesque.”
