Will Batman actor Christian Bale team up with Thor in Love And Thunder?

The Caped Crusader could be coming face to face with the God of Thunder. According to Collider, Batman actor Christian Bale is in talks with Marvel to appear in Thor: Love And Thunder, the next instalment of the series that’s due out at the end of 2021.

If it does happen, this will make Bale one of the few actors who have appeared in films by both DC and Marvel.

The report added that Bale’s role has yet to be disclosed, and Marvel has not responded to a request for comment.

Bale, who won the Oscar in 2011 for Best Supporting Actor in The Fighter, could join the likes of Chris Hemsworth, reprising his role as Thor, and Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.

Natalie Portman is set to return to the franchise. She was last seen in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World.

Taika Waititi, who found success with Ragnarok, will be directing Love And Thunder, as well as voicing the fan-favourite Korg.

Shooting is expected to begin later this year.
