On Saturday January 11th, the 76th North Carolina Governor Josh Stein delivered a stirring address on the telecast inauguration event, celebrating the resilient spirit of the residents and his willingness to have it kept.
On January 1st, in the Old Senate Chambers at the historic Capitol in downtown Raleigh, Stein took the oath of office to become North Carolina’s 76th Governor. The public inauguration event was planned to take place on 11th and 12th. However, due to weather condition, it was cancelled and altered to online telecast, starting from 2 p.m.
Speaking to a statewide audience, Stein began by listing the "heroes" who stepped up to help their neighbors during recent natural disasters that have devastated parts of North Carolina. Those people have answered the call by donating provisions and lending a hand to those in need when floods have struck the buildings. He said, "They are North Carolina strong, and that is the spirit that will guide us forward."
Stein went on to expand the concept, showing what “North Carolina Strong” should be: to cut taxes, create jobs, invest in infrastructure and education, and ensure access to quality healthcare for all North Carolinians. "This is not the first time we have done it," he noted, recounting how his predecessors have passed a series of Acts since the 1950s to transform North Carolina from one of the poorest states into the economic powerhouse it is today.
Apparently, he looked forward to committing more in his term. “Let’s do it again!” He stated firmly at last, saying that they would assemble all the power for the goal instead of minding each other’s differences.
