Fujian Largest Single Contiguous Container Terminal Area was Built

On April 2, the capacity expansion project (Phase I) of Berths 6 and 7 in the Bitou Operation Area of Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port passed the completion acceptance. At this point, No.1 ~ No.7 berths in Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port have been fully connected, becoming the largest single contiguous container terminal area in Fujian.

It is reported that the capacity expansion project (Phase I) of Berths 6 and 7 has been completed and accepted, which has filled the gap of 200,000-ton container berths in Fuzhou Port. This project, together with berths 1~5 and 8~9 which have been put into operation, forms a “super container terminal group” with a total length of nearly 3 kilometers and a designed annual throughput of over 3 million TEUs, which provides a solid guarantee for the encrypted routes and the normal berthing of super-large container ships in Jiangyin Port Area, and further enhances the port’s operational efficiency and service capacity.

The contiguous development of container berths in Jiangyin Port Area will also realize the remote control operation of wharf front equipment, unmanned operation of horizontal transportation equipment and remote control operation of yard equipment. Relying on the scale effect of contiguous development of container berths, the comprehensive service capacity and radiation level of Jiangyin Port Area have been significantly enhanced, which will attract more shipping resources to gather and promote the integrated development of “port-production-city”.
