Awesome! Longyan’s Other Work Experience is Promoted throughout the Country!

Recently, the typical experience of Longyan’s large-scale grain yield improvement work, “Fujian Longyan Five Measures and Large-scale Yield Improvement”, was published in the briefing “Planting Express” sponsored by the Planting Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and was promoted nationwide.

Longyan is one of the three major grain-producing cities in Fujian Province. In recent years, the city has always regarded food security as an important political task, strictly implemented the responsibility of the party and the government for food security, and continued to promote the steady growth of food production in the city by focusing on five key dimensions: reclamation and multiple cropping, yield increase, equipment upgrade, subject cultivation and service improvement. Since 2022, 40,000 mu of grain has been reclaimed from wasteland with a scale of over 30 mu in the city, and the number of grain management entities with a scale of over 30 mu has increased from 1,169 in 2020 to 2,040 in 2024. The grain yield per mu in the city has steadily increased from 430.6 kg in 2020 to 435.2 kg in 2024.

In order to further mobilize farmers’ enthusiasm for grain and oil production and consolidate the good momentum of stable development of grain and oil production in our city, the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Municipal Finance Bureau jointly formulated the Ten Measures for Stable Development of Grain and Oil Production in 2025. We will increase support for large grain and oil growers, agricultural enterprises, family farms, farmers' professional cooperatives and other production and business entities and social service organizations, focusing on supporting grain and oil scale planting, fallowing and replanting, grain mechanized production, “rice+” production mode, grain yield increase, social service, etc., to improve grain and oil production efficiency, mobilize farmers’ enthusiasm for grain and oil production, and ensure that the city will complete the grain planting area of 1,912,500 mu (including 2.5 million mu of soybeans) in 2025.
