Xiamen Makes the List of Top Ten Cities Most Favored by Foreign Inbound Tourists

Less than a month away from the Spring Festival of 2025 Year of the Snake, which marks the first Spring Festival holiday following the successful inscription of Spring Festival on the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list, the Spring Festival tourism market has seen a noticeable uptick. Recently, Ctrip released its "2025 Spring Festival Tourism Market Forecast Report," with Xiamen making the list of the top ten cities most favored by foreign inbound tourists.

Data shows that due to the newly implemented "240-hour visa-free transit policy" and the continuous expansion of the "visa-free circle" since 2024, the rapid growth of inbound tourism has become a highlight of the 2025 Spring Festival tourism market, with "experiencing the Chinese New Year in China" becoming a popular trend on overseas social media platforms. During the Spring Festival period, inbound tourism orders on the Ctrip platform surged by 203% year-over-year, with major source countries being South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. Xiamen has emerged as one of the popular domestic destinations for foreign tourists, with inbound tourism orders growing by 58% year-over-year.
