This lecture will take you on a journey through the classic masterpiece

Grand Canyon Suite

by American composer Ferde Grofé. Teacher Zhuang Jianhua will provide an accessible and insightful analysis of this musical work, allowing you to experience the magnificence of nature and the artistic inspiration of the composer.

大峡谷组曲

嘉宾简介：庄建华

作曲家庄建华，加拿大音乐家协会会员。90 年代初赴欧洲荷兰留学，获最高音乐学位。曾受荷兰音乐家协会邀请赴阿姆斯特丹参加 《世界现代音乐研讨会》 ，其讲解的创作作品受到赞譽。他创作有交响管弦乐曲、室内乐曲、声乐曲等多种类型的作品，多部作品在国内外获奖，如室内乐 《太阳谷》 《女高音与打击乐》 在阿姆斯特丹音乐出版社出版，器乐曲 《沪沽湖》 在全球华人音乐作品比赛中获奖，民族器乐曲 《敦煌诗梦》 被中央人民广播电台制作音乐专题播出。曾为电視剧 《爱情不是游戏》 《山不转水转》 《大收藏家》 等影视作品作曲。他为中国广播乐团，《中国印象演奏家》小组创作的器乐曲《平安回家》 《爱的賦格曲》被收录在 《中国当代国乐名家系列》 专辑中。

Composer Zhuang Jianhua is a member of theCanadian Musicians’ Association. In the early 1990s, he went to the Netherlands to study music and obtained the highest music degree . He was invited by the Netherlands Musicians’ Association to participate in the World Contemporary Music Seminar held in Amsterdam, where his creative works and explanations received high praise.

Zhuang has composed symphonic orchestral works, chamber music, vocal music , and many other types of compositions. Many of his works have won awards both in China and internationally. For example, his chamber music pieces Valley of the Sun and Soprano and Percussion were published by a music publisher in Amsterdam. His instrumental piece Lake Lugu won an award at the Global Chinese Music Composition Competition. His traditional Chinese instrumental work Dunhuang Poetic Dreams was featured in a special music program produced by China National Radio. He has also composed music for television dramas such as Love Is Not a Game, The Mountain Doesn’t Turn, the Water Does , and The Great Collector

.Additionally, his instrumental works Safe Return Home and Fugue of Love , composed for the China Radio National Orchestra and the ensemble "Impression of China" , were included in the "Collection of Contemporary Chinese National Music Masters" album series.

协办社团：红河谷合唱团

红河谷合唱团成立发起于Richmond Hill社区，现发展为大多伦多一支训练有素和实力雄厚的合唱团。红河谷合唱团由知名词作家袁月担任团长，经理Joanne Ni 著名音乐家作曲家庄建华老师担任艺术总监及指导老师。

The Red River Valley Choir was founded in the Richmond Hill community and has since grown into a well-trained and highly capable choir in the Greater Toronto Area. The choir is led by renowned lyricist Yuan Yue, who serves as the President, and Joanne Ni, who serves as the Manager. The choir’s Artistic Director and Instructor is the renowned musician and composer, Zhuang Jianhua.
